See the Zoo in a Whole New Light
For 24 nights beginning November 22, 2014
5:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.
Experience the magic of the Detroit Zoo in winter and take in the lights and enjoy holiday entertainment and activities for guests of all ages. More than five million LED lights illuminate trees, buildings and more than 100 animal sculptures throughout the front of the Zoo. Wild Lights will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. December 5-7, 11-14, 18-23 and 26-31. Live entertainment, arts and crafts, ice carving and the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibit will part of the festivities. Seasonal refreshments, Wild Lights souvenirs and photos with Santa “Paws” (until December 23) will be available for purchase.
Visit the Wild Adventure Zone during Wild Lights
Go on an extraordinary adventure in the Wild Adventure Zone with "The Polar Express 4-D Experience" at the 4-D Theater. This 14-minute film featuring Tom Hanks tells the tale of a doubting young boy who takes a train ride to the North Pole and discovers that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.
Breakfast with Santa
December 6, 13 and 20, 8-10 a.m.
The Detroit Zoological Society will host this year’s Breakfast with Santa in the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery on December 6, 13 and 20, 8-10 a.m. The doors open at 8 a.m. and breakfast is served at 8:15 a.m. This buffet-style waffle breakfast includes a special gift for each child, arts and crafts, photo opportunities and a visit from Santa and a few of his wildlife friends. For Members, tickets are $25 for adults (ages 15 and older) and $20 for children (ages 14 and younger). For non-members, tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children. The non-member price includes Detroit Zoo admission and parking. Tickets are required for all children, regardless of age, as seating is limited. Booster seats are not available for safety reasons. Dinner with Santa
December 19 to 23, 6-7:30 p.m.
Celebrate this holiday season with a festive feast at the Detroit Zoo’s Dinner with Santa. This event takes place in the Wildlife Interpretive Gallery 6-7:30 p.m. December 19 to 23 during our spectacular holiday light display, Wild Lights.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner is served at 6:15 p.m. The buffet-style dinner includes a photo opportunity and story time with Santa as well as admission to Wild Lights.
Tickets are $39 for adults (ages 15 and older) and $34 for children (ages 14 and younger). Tickets are required for all children, regardless of age, as seating is limited.

Following your horse-drawn wagon ride to A Taste of History Restaurant, your family will partake in a casual buffet-style holiday turkey dinner perfect for kids! You’ll also be able to make a festive table decoration and hear a fun story to get you in the mood for your visit to lantern-lit Greenfield Village. As a separate treat, Santa Claus will be on hand and make a personal visit to each table!
After dinner, experience Holiday Nights in the rest of Greenfield Village. Holiday Nights tickets are included with your dinner reservation.
