Fannie Mae Offers Assistance in the Short Sale Process

Fannie Mae has rolled out its newest short sale tool under the name Homepath for Short Sales.

This tool allows real estate agents to deal with Fannie Mae directly when faced with a short sale situation with a property whose loan is owned by Fannie Mae. The Homepath tool helps agents navigate value disputes, delays in the short sale process and uncooperative lien holders. It also helps in determining a fair and reasonable listing price before putting a property on the market.

Fannie Mae hopes that this new tool will help agents close more short sales and avoid more foreclosures. This idea will not only help individual sellers, but it will also help the communities that the properties reside in as well as assist the real estate market as a whole.

If you are considering a short sale, contact Lang Premier Properties to find out your options. Owners often feel that a short sale is their only option, but more and more sellers are surprised to find that a traditional sale is still available to them.

Lang Premier Properties is home to a leading Oakland County Short Sale Realtor.
