Field Trip Time!

The main thing I LOVE about the Woodward Corridor is that is it usually a hop skip and a jump to many other cool, interesting neighborhoods, events, and happenings. Today's trip is taking us to Detroit...I hope you have your permission slips signed, cause we are checking out…

Detroit Vegan soul started out in February 2012, as a catering and meal delivery service company. With a mission to:

“help people live healthier lives by providing great-tasting, high-quality, nutritious vegan food that appeals to everyone, while at the same time doing our part to support a sustainable earth.”

With two great locations about thirty minutes from each other and about thirty minutes each way from Woodward Corridor, it’s your choice to pick where you hang. I went to their East location off of Anges St. in Detroit.  Cute, cozy with a modern vibe. It is small and I can see where long waits may happen...I went on a Sunday right before close.

Since it was Sunday I had access to their Brunch menu.

I decided to try their Soul Platter-get a little bit of everything. I LOVE to eat and I LOVE to have it all. And as a girl who used to LOVE her fish-I had an unhealthy obsession with it- I knew I was going to have to try their tofu catfish. I was not disappointed. My dinner mate who hates all things that live in water tried a bite and was immediately turned off...due to the fact it tastes like fish. He went with the Seitan Pepper Steak. Which was equally delish.

We also had collard greens, sweet potato, mac and cheese, hoppin john and a cornbread muffin. All of it was out of this the point I was dancing in the aisle. What was the best? We couldn’t decide. My favs were the mac and cheese and the sweet potato. My dinner mate enjoyed the collard greens and cornbread.  I am currently planning my next trip. This time checking out the West location off of Grand River in Detroit.

This is MUST taste! Like pack up the car and go NOW! You won’t be disappointed.
