You can find some of the best sports and recreation in the state of Michigan. It's no wonder why Troy was bestowed the honor of Michigan's Sportstown by Sports Illustrated magazine. Residents here can choose between a variety of Troy parks, recreational facilities, and programs to suit their interests. The Troy Family Aquatic Center hosts recreational programs and other outdoor activities can be found at one of 5 community parks including Boulan Park, Donald J. Flynn Park, Jaycee Park, Firefighters Park, and Raintree Park. Troy also has 10 neighborhood parks for public use.
Troy Recreation: Golf Courses
You can find year-round golf at one of two golf courses: Sanctuary Lake Golf Course, and Sylvan Glen Golf Course. Accessible to all ages and skill levels, both facilities feature a golf academy, which offers group and private lessons. Grow your game at their practice facilities which offer 70 hitting stations, 8 target greens, and a short game area for putting and chipping. A membership grants access to both courses, as well as other benefits which include Troy Golf Rewards, unlimited balls, and special deal and discounts.
Troy Skate Park
Just north of the Troy Community Center is the state of the art Troy Skate Park. Skateboards, bikes, and inline skates of all skill levels are all invited to maneuver through the 10,000 square foot outdoor course which features a Skatelite Pro surface. Practice your best tricks on Huna designed ramps, rails, grind boxes, half pipes, and wedges, which provide fun, but challenging obstacles. A snack shop, washroom facilities, and telephones are available in the adjacent community center. The skate park is open to the public daily from 8:00 am until sunset.

Outdoor enthusiasts should take advantage of the 1.25 paved walking paths, great for running and dog walking. There's also plenty of free parking and seasonal concession stands.

Firefighters Park is located between Crooks Road and Coolidge Highway. This community park offers a combination of treed areas, open green space, and recreational facilities for public use. Some of the amenities include play structures, an 18 hole disc golf course, picnic shelters, 9 soccer fields, a baseball diamond, nine soccer pitches and concession stands.
Hidden Lake Gardens
6214 Monroe Rd, Tipton
Spend a day exploring local and exotic fauna and flora at Hidden Lake Gardens, a short drive from Troy, Michigan. This 200 acre area has 6 miles of paved trails 10 miles of hiking trails, and offers guided tours of the many collection or rare and exotic plant collections which include a bonsai collection, conservatory and a hosta collection. The kids can also sign up for junior master gardener programs.
Troy Family Aquatic Center

You can find fun for the entire family at Troy Family Aquatic Center. This community facility has a swimming pool, bathhouse, sand volleyball courts, water slides, picnic area, and a kids area with playground and 2 kiddy pools. The center also offers swimming lessons for all ages and levels, seniors programs, fitness classes, dance classes, sports camps, and a preschool program.
